Downtown Santa Rosa

A Nostalgic Revival on 4th Street Augie's French in Downtown Santa Rosa

Augie’s French quietly opened its doors in early October 2023, paying homage to the godfather of French cuisine, Auguste Escoffier. As the eighth and final venture of Stark Reality Restaurants, it serves as the perfect bookend to Chef Mark’s culinary journey, returning to where it all began—in a French kitchen.

Situated in the 1904 historic Maugg Building on downtown Santa Rosa’s iconic 4th street, once home to the beloved “Portofino Café,” Augie’s French aspires to revive the social collectiveness this building once held.

Adorned with an eye-catching Zinc bar, stunning tile work, exposed brick, and tapestried walls featuring giant butterflies, Augie’s creates a buzz among Francophiles and gastronomes alike—a place that feels like home.

Augie's offers elevated service in a comforting and enchanting atmosphere where guests feel an immediate sense of familiarity. The menu, embodying French Bistro classics, includes Onion Soup Gratinée, Pâté de Campagna, Escargot with various flavored butters, and a classic Beef Bourguignon known to evoke tears of delight. Here you can expect the expected, prepared exceptionally well.

Our wine list is comprised of exclusively French selections, and the bar specializes in classic French aperitif cocktails. Happy Hour and a limited bar menu are offered daily from 3-5 pm, featuring items you won’t find on the dinner menu.

We anticipate many impactful conversations within Augie's French, and we warmly extend an invitation to join us for Happy Hour or dinner service, Wednesday through Sunday, in the main dining room, at the bar, on the mezzanine or our charming patio.

Mark and Terri aim to firmly place Santa Rosa on the map as a culinary destination. We eagerly anticipate your presence in contributing to the revitalization of Downtown Santa Rosa.
